Too Good To Waste

Lucia has been trying her luck at parody over at Rank Exploits. Epic fail, but it has the mice stirred up, so Eli thought he would sing them a lullabye

You are the Denialist Army.

When we feel dissatisfaction,
We scream in a nasty way
Some people may prefer science,
For us, 50 FOI requests a day.

Blog posts don't have to be clever,
And we add extra sentences into every line.
It sounds more authentic at Rankexploits
Without any sense or rhyme

Remember the war against Phil Jones?
That's where Lucia belongs
Though he does good science,
She figures he's always wrong

So join the Denialist Army,
FOI requests the weapons we bring
To the fight against global warming
Ready! Aim! Whine!

(Apologies to TL)

Eli left a copy for Lucia.

Horatio, where art thou when we need you?

One could also call them the "denialist guerilla army"? :) But that is a mouthful.

Thanks for the TL reference -- Tom Lehrer's Folk Song Army.

We are the folk song army.
Every one of us cares.

Not so much my age, but perhaps the fact that (as one sister said about me and our other sister) I have an old soul. I'm pretty sure I haven't broken 30. (Though it occurs to me my mother was surprised when I reached 30 calendar years; she commented that she didn't know how she could have a 30 year old son since she was only 29 herself. I'm now approaching similar comments w.r.t. my daughter.)

With apologies to the White Stripes:

"Well, the crickets get it
And the ants get it
I bet you the pigs get it
Yeah, even the plants get it
Come on now, and get with it
Yeah, I want you to get with it
Oh!
Yeah, I just want you to get with it
'cause everyone that's under your shoe
And every bird and bug in the jungle, too
And everything in the ocean blue
They just happen to know exactly what to do
So why don't you?
Yeah, why don't you?

The flies get it
And the frogs get it
And all them big jungle cats get it
And I bet your little dog gets it
Yeah, I want you to get with it
Yeah, come on, and get with it
Whoo!
Yeah, I want you to get with it
'Cause everyone that's under your shoe
And every bird and bee in the jungle, too
And everything in the ocean blue
They just happen to know exactly what to do
So why don't you? why don't you?

And all the chickens get it
And them singing canaries get it
Whoo!
Even strawberries get it
I want you to get with it
Yeah, I want you to get with it
Yeah!
I want you to get with it
'Cause everyone that's under your shoe
And every bird and bee in the jungle, too
And everything in the ocean blue
They just happen to know exactly what to do
So why don't you?"

Yes those crickets (little thermometers that they are) do get it, and so do the frogs and entire ecosystems. It being AGW of course. They all get it, just not you Lucia and co.

Very good. As a little bunny, I loved listening to my parents' Tom Lehrer records. I have one suggestion about the second line, though. I don't think they scream their anger away. If anything, they work themselves up into more of a frenzy. I suggest altering it to "We scream our anger their way" or something like that.

Food waste is a major problem globally, with about one-third of all food produced worldwide going to waste. This has a significant impact on the environment, economy, and society. One way to reduce food waste is to be mindful of the food we buy, cook, and consume and find creative ways to use leftovers. Cheap Dissertation Writing Services
