On the nature of science....

Where do the bunnies of the field, think that carrots arise? Perhaps from the trolls under the earth who push them up at opportune moments when we have turned away. Our ability to manipulate things relies on models that we build to understand the world around us. Often these are nonsense, but serviceable at least within the bounds of our individual experience. The lab rabbits take these nostrums and test them. The theory coneys think deep thoughts. Occasionally they get taken out of their cages for a dose of reality which concentrates their minds. The answers improve the models, expanding their predictive and explicative power
