Give a Man a Solar Lamp

So how many times have you heard the cheap bastards proclaim

Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach a man how to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.
Of course they do neither, but they belittle those who help daily.

Talking about getting useful power to the really poor and isolated people in the world, it occurred to Eli that
Give a man a kerosine lantern and he needs to go out and buy more fuel forever. Give him a solar lamp and he has light for a lifetime

Teach a man to fish, and he will spend all day in a boat drinking beer.

Teach a man how to fish and in a few years there will be no more fish in lakes and seas
I hope there not will be contraindications for solar lamps

In the US, I think the approach is "give a man a gun, and he can take all the kerosene he wants".

Don't let Didip near the solar cell spawning grounds.

Also Pratchett's version:
"Build a man a fire, and he'll be warm for a day. Set a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life."

Give a man a solar lamp with a battery, and he can fish for squid all night, and sell his
surplus catch to buy an electric jet ski.

Willard should launch a SquidGameBall frasnchise in Korea.
