Isaac Held Has a Blog

Go bother him

  1. That's a very good looking simulation. If only the weather would be that well behaved. But since there have been occasions of fish raining, I'd add a small random element to any model.

  2. I suspect we have Curry to thank for this, at least in part. Even at this early date, the contrast in scientific content between Isaac's blog and Judy's is sharp indeed, even ignoring the latter's bevy of idiot hangers-on. As Gavin is reticent about blogging his own work, there was a niche to be filled here and it's good to see it filled by a first-rank modeler.

  3. Wow, I can see why he is comfortable calling the vortices which form in the Atlantic, Caribbean and even the Eastern Pacific development regions "hurricanes". The formation tracks and dissipation of these looks exactly like real hurricanes.

But then we all know that GCM's suck and can't possibly produce a realistic climate. Yeah, right.
