Missed This

By way of Boing-Boing today, an explanation which passes the six sigma test from Scott Westerfeld

Of course, the mad scientists, unfairly pursuing the Exxons and Koch's of the world must be defeated lest they do something to save the world.  The Girl Genius, has joined with the forces of fossil fuel and campaign cash contributions to defeat and demean these people who can tinker with the laws of physics, well that and other stuff in our spare time.

Phil Foglio, for the love of God. Was Eli ever a DM?

There should be some picture or graphic that shows this, and used it with every deiner interactions.

You could do a remake of the "Trip to Abilene" in which 97 scientists go to Paris dressed in Panda Bear suits

John,

"Dungeon Master." I recall Phil's comic running in "The Dragon," a fantasy-gaming magazine from decades past.

That's a wonderful way to tackle the problem! Thanks to Scott Westerfield, and Rabett for posting it.

Fernando, Call South Park and see if they have your size

(Russell's pandaring has reached a new low.)

When will the Radiative Forcing Panda debut on Sesame Street?

I'm still shocked that ManBearPig didn't kill the notion of a Good Anthroporcine.

(And on a more serious note, word on The Street is that Elmo has court-mandated sessions with SHP, brought to him by the letters "B" and "J" and the number "under 18".)

(And my 10:31 referred to Fern, not Matt and Trey.)

If the references were not so obscure, some of the rest of us could enjoy the material/joke/whatever. It's also not clear that, you know, a future for most of us is assisted by blatant namecalling: "manbearpig" is flat stupid as well as wrong. Shortcuts to deceive the gullible in the service of those plucky billionaires and big fossil are ready to hand, but wisdom is in short supply.

Yes, I suspect that was ironic; my point is the code is too opaque.

Apologies, Susan. ManBearPig is another South Park reference, but delving into specifics would make us all a bit less intelligent. (A pity, as I was proud of "Anthroporcine.")

And "SHP" refers to Russell's link.

Senator Inhofe will be crushed when he finds out Barbra Streisand isn't inside that panda suit.

Snowball's more brony than furry.

Susan,

I could fling my poopies and peepee
Just like the two Bs, P and BD,
But I'm going for giggles
(Though I'm no Don Riggles,
Just some hockey-pugg). Hope you'll bear with me.

wheelism

I've been very, very restrained of late. I'm disappointed that nobody seems to have noticed. Good doggerel, though.

I DID notice, BBD, while running through the latest comments in that thread. I was being entirely snarky, and I do apologize.

BBD said...

No apology necessary, wheelism. I often wish I could bring more wit and levity to the discussion, the better to dilute the malevolence and insanity.

Phil Foglio! I *thought* I recognized that style! Had no idea he was still active.

Did anybody else try to fund the Wormy book?

(Not to do the Time Warp again, but the Wormy archive is here.)
