Back in 1996, when Bob Dole ran for President, his campaign rallies would start with music and dancers proclaiming "I'm s Dole Man!" to the tune of Sam and Dave's song "I'm a soul man".
But then Sam and/or Dave successfully threatened legal action against Dole and the Republicans, forcing a stop to this infringement of their intellectual property. The Republicans stopped singing "I'm a Dole man". After he lost the electuon to incumbent Bill Clinton, Dole went on to become a TV pitchman for Viagra.
